Learning a new language can widen your horizon and open many opportunities for you. When I learned English I could read books or watch series in their original language. If you only learn German to survive on a holiday, you will see that people appreciate every small effort. When you learn German to get in touch with German people you can make many new friends. If you learn German to work or live in Germany you will find that your language skills will prove helpful in many ways.
Aim to be inspired
It’s good learn from other people. Be humble, they often know more than you do. There are people that have done, what you aim to do before so reach out to them and learn how they did it. Then do it yourself. Don’t try to put everything together yourself, there is no price for originality (I looked for it quite some time and never found it).
Take action
Don’t only consume, but instead take action based on what you learn!
