This Privacy Policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit confidentgerman.com (the “Website”), why, and what rights you have. In short: this Website does not use cookies, analytics, tracking, advertising networks, comments, contact forms or newsletters. The only personal data processed is what is technically necessary to deliver the pages to you, and data YouTube receives if you open a page with an embedded video.

Hosting and server log files
The Website is a static website hosted on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a data center in Nuremberg, Germany.
Every time you access a page or file, our web server automatically records the following information in log files:
- your IP address,
- date and time of the request,
- the requested page or file and the HTTP status code,
- the amount of data transferred,
- the referring website (if your browser sends it),
- your browser type and operating system (user agent).
We use this data only to deliver the Website, to keep it secure and stable (for example to detect and block attacks) and to fix errors. We do not combine it with other data and do not use it to build profiles. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted automatically after 90 days at the latest, unless a specific security incident requires us to keep individual entries longer for its investigation.
Cookies, analytics and tracking
We do not set any cookies and do not use any analytics, statistics, tracking or advertising tools. We do not use social media plugins or share buttons; links to social networks are ordinary links.
Fonts
The fonts used on this Website are stored on our own server. No connection to external font providers (such as Google Fonts) is made when you visit the Website.
Embedded YouTube videos
Some articles contain embedded videos from YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We embed these videos in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com).
When you open a page that contains an embedded video, your browser connects to YouTube’s servers. YouTube thereby receives technical information such as your IP address, information about your browser and device, and the address of the page you are visiting. According to YouTube, in privacy-enhanced mode no information is used to personalize your browsing experience before you play a video. When you play a video, YouTube may store cookies or similar information on your device and process further data about your viewing. If you are logged in to a Google account, YouTube may be able to associate this with your account.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in presenting video content that supports our articles (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Google may also process data in the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. If you do not want YouTube to receive any data, please avoid pages that contain videos or use a browser extension that blocks embedded content.
Links to other websites
Our articles link to other websites, for example language-learning services, books and social media profiles. Some of these links point to short addresses on our own domain (for example confidentgerman.com/italkicredit) that forward you to the external website; these requests are recorded in our server log files like any other request (see above). Some links may be referral or affiliate links: if you sign up or buy something after following such a link, the provider may know that you came from our Website and may pay us a commission. As soon as you are on another website, its own privacy policy applies; we have no control over its content or data practices.
Contacting us by email
If you send us an email, we process your email address and the content of your message only to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract). We delete your message once it is no longer needed, unless legal retention obligations apply.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
- have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR),
- have the processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
- receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR).

Residents of certain U.S. states may have similar rights under their state’s privacy laws. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes.
Children
This Website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
